"International Education Forum - School Education Innovation Seminar" was held in Tsinghua Affiliated High School
On the afternoon of November 10, 2016, the "Future Education and Skills: Education 2030" international Education Forum - "School Education Innovation Seminar" was held in the Affiliated High School of Tsinghua University。More than 100 education experts, scholars and government officials from 26 countries discussed the innovation and development of education in China, taking the education practice of Tsinghua High School as a case study。
Over the years, the High School Attached to Tsinghua University has vigorously advocated curriculum construction, teaching reform, innovative talent training mode, and the development of international education, and has achieved remarkable results。Mr. Wang Dianjun, President of the High School Attached to Tsinghua University, delivered a speech on the topic of "Education and Innovation in the High School Attached to Tsinghua University"。First of all, through his personal growth experience and the educational reform and innovation of Tsinghua High School in the past ten years, he explained the reform and change of China's basic education from the side。He introduced that Tsinghua High School firmly grasped the trend and core of the national basic education reform: people-oriented, pay attention to students, lay the foundation for the lifelong development of each student, and put forward the goal of "laying the foundation for future leaders.。

Wang Dianjun believes that middle school is the stage of laying the foundation for the growth of talents。To lay the foundation for future leaders is to train them to have the same qualities, practices and characters as leaders: lofty ideals, noble character, outstanding talent, extraordinary endurance, and a sense of service。Under his leadership, Tsinghua High School put forward the strategic concept of "nine-year development plan" and formulated the specific goal of "three three-year years, divided into three steps"。
In Wang Dianjun's view, elite schools should have and undertake at least three major responsibilities:
The first is to lay the foundation for future leaders, and to explore the reform of school education and personnel training mode from the law of educating people and the law of student development;Focusing on practical exploration, reforming the curriculum system, teaching students according to their aptitude, and providing diversified platforms for students' all-round development。At the same time, strengthen the scientific research strength of teachers, improve the professional level of teachers, and strive to achieve the goal of strengthening the school by scientific research。
Second, to lead educational reform and innovation, and actively promote the establishment of China's advanced placement curriculum system to meet the needs of students at different levels;Develop a comprehensive quality evaluation point system to create conditions for deepening the reform of the examination and enrollment system, improving the talent selection model, and constantly explore the progress of basic education。
Third, it strives to assume social responsibility. Tsinghua High School has made unremitting efforts for the balanced development of basic education and put it into practice in the activities of supporting talents from poor families, teacher training and volunteer teaching in remote and poor areas。

Subsequently, the seminar was presided over by Wang Yan, Associate researcher of the International Exchange Office of the National Institute of Education Sciences, and commented on the reform and innovation of the High School Attached to Tsinghua in the past ten years。Professor Shang Junjie, Deputy Dean of the School of Education of Peking University, affirmed the achievements of Tsinghua High School in education and innovation;Professor Graham Ranger, Director of School Support and Assessment Services of the Council of International Schools (Netherlands), Mr. Ye Cuiwei, Principal of Hangzhou No. 2 High School, and Professor Rod Allan, Superintendent of Cowichan Valley, Canada, also praised the achievements made by Tsinghua High School in education reform and innovation。Finally, Dr. Connie K Chung, Director of the Global Education Innovation Program of Harvard Graduate School of Education, and other guests had a special discussion on the five-year plan and the strategic plan of Tsinghua High School, and put forward constructive opinions and suggestions。

Before the seminar began, 10 student volunteers from the High School Attached to Tsinghua led the foreign guests to visit four advanced research laboratories in energy system, automation and robotics, computer science and geographic information。The students who were doing research in the laboratory explained and demonstrated their respective research projects to the foreign guests, such as the project of converting energy from temperature difference, the smart bed project for relieving apnea and comfortable awakening, and the intelligent Internet of Things robot project, which won unanimous praise from the foreign guests。
