The International Department of Tsinghua High School held the 2015 International Day
On the morning of December 2nd, the 2015 International Day, organized by the World Language Teaching and Research Group of the International Department of Tsinghua High School, kicked off in the multi-function Hall。Nearly 300 students, teachers and students of the Middle School and children of the fifth grade of the primary school participated in this colorful activity。
In the early morning, students dressed in the traditional costumes of the countries they represent arrive at the multi-function hall。First up was the International Village, with 17 classes representing 17 countries, including Luxembourg, Belarus, South Africa, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Vietnam and Mongolia。These countries are provided by the teachers of the World Language Teaching and Research Group and are freely chosen by the students of each class。At the event site, each class used their own carefully designed booth to show the culture of the country they represented, including geographical overview, language use, culture and art, economic development, population migration and other content。Students went to booths in different countries with pre-designed problem sheets to investigate the migration problems in each country and how to solve them。In particular, in order to allow ESL (English as a Second Language) students to participate in this activity, the teachers of the World Language Teaching and Research Group have asked students to choose one of the given countries to study the migration problem in early October。The Global Village activities not only allow students to learn about the diverse cultures of countries around the world, but also give them an in-depth understanding of the migration issues in different countries。
